Quinta de Santo Antonio’s restoration to its former glory was completed in 2010. The restoration spanned over 10 years. The lovely manor was named after Lisbon’s favourite Saint and you will find within the private grounds many allusions to Santo Antonio, as well as ancient structures such as arches and wells. The villa was passionately restored, retaining its authenticity and providing a luxurious setting for an unforgettable holiday. The villa is a fine example of traditional Portuguese architecture and looks stunning from every angle, providing many wonderful postcard-like pictures.

After entering the Manor through its imposing gates, the main entrance to the villa is via a spacious hall. To the left and separated by glass doors, is found the vast living room with a lovely encased fireplace providing a focal point. This glorious room has 6 separate french doors opening onto the gardens in 3 different directions, so whatever time of day, light is consistently pouring through! There is an ample seating area for 12 people and the dining area easily seats 10. The modern and functional American-style kitchen, which also connects to the garden and the outdoor dining area, adds a tasteful touch of design and modernity to the historical villa. A large TV with satellite channels, DVD player and stereo are provided for the entertainment of guests. Free Wi-Fi internet access is also provided.

A majestic staircase leads to the first floor where the bedrooms are found. The spacious master suite connects to a smaller fourth bedroom with bunk beds. The lovely en-suite marble bathroom has a bath and separate shower. The second bedroom has 3 single beds and en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom has a double bed, a single bed and also an en-suite bathroom. There is also an additonal put-up single bed. Just like in the living areas, the bedrooms have been cleverly designed, each has 2 sets of windows opening onto different directions, in order to increase natural daylight.

Outside, the beautiful landscaped and immaculate gardens provide many relaxing moments. Old ruins have been graciously preserved and incorporated into the landscape, so there is a comfortable and very special feeling throughout. Garden furniture and a barbecue are also provided for wonderful “al-fresco” meals. There is a separate outbuilding with laundry facilities. Finally, the beautiful secluded private swimming pool at Quinta de Santo Antonio is the ideal setting for hours of fun, or simply to read a book whilst enjoying the sun. The pool has its own pool house.
